Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS)

Criminal Justice Center, Police Headquarters, Various Police Districts, Curran-Fromhold Correctional Facility

Completed in 1998 for $25 million for the City of Philadelphia, this collection of information system projects is designed to improve the transfer of information within and outside criminal justice and law enforcement agencies, automate previously manual processes, reduce redundant data entry across operating departments of the City, and accelerate arrest-to-arraignment detainee processing.  The on-line system includes:  Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS); Preliminary Arraignment System (PARS); Integrated Jail Management System (IJMS); and the Video Arraignment/Pre-Trial Interview System.  Majid Alsayegh, principal at Alta Management, oversaw the development and implementation of the CJIS in conjunction with the construction of the Criminal Justice Center.   Majid Alsayegh, James K.
